Welcome to Balanced Body Pilates
Pilates encourages sound movement patterns, that we can use in daily life to help to prevent injury and strengthen your body in a gentle and mindful way. The Pilates Method of exercise has its origins in the work of the late Joseph Pilates, who was born in 1880 near Dusseldorf, Germany. Joseph was a frail child. He turned to physical fitness programs to improve his body image. Joseph became a keen sportsman, developing talents in sports as varied as diving, gymnastics and boxing.

Introduced to Pilates about 7 years ago, by a good friend who was training to become a Pilates teacher. I loved it and I have practised Pilates ever since. After taking up Pilates I found it complements my passion for running, staying healthy and fit. I love how Pilates tones and strengthens, gives you an amazing understanding of your body, increases flexibility whilst also providing moments of calm!
Soon I realised Pilates was for me, after two years of training, I became a qualified Pilates instructor.
